Makerere University has welcomed the 2026/2027 freshers during its Freshers Orientation Week, running from 1st to 7th August 2026.

The central orientation at Freedom Square brought together university leaders, staff, student leaders and newly admitted students. Freshers were introduced to university life, academic expectations, registration procedures, student welfare services and opportunities available to them.

University officials encouraged the new students to remain focused, disciplined and responsible while making the most of their time at Makerere.

The orientation marked the beginning of a new academic journey filled with learning, friendships, leadership opportunities and personal growth for the new generation of Makerere students.
